Plantar fasciitis is one of the most common causes of heel pain. It involves inflammation of a thick band of tissue that runs across the bottom of your foot and connects your heel bone to your toes (plantar fascia). Based on the research 1 in 10 people will have plantar fasciitis during their lifetime (Tahririan et al, 2012)

High Risk Group

  • Obesity/overweight

  • Very high arch/ flat feet

  • Repetitive impact activity (running/sports)

  • Calf muscle tightness

  • Shoes with poor support

  • Age

  • Occupations that keep you on your feet
